Trusting the Journey: How Pet & Plant Pal Blossomed in Louisville

In the heart of Louisville, surrounded by a vibrant community and lush greenery, I found my true calling. My journey to create Pet & Plant Pal is deeply rooted in my diverse experiences and unwavering passion for animals and plants. Through embracing the Buddhist wisdom of impermanence, I learned to navigate life's changes with grace and found new opportunities in the midst of uncertainty.

From a young age, I was immersed in the world of horses, riding, and competing in three seats. My formative years were spent showing horses, developing a deep connection with these majestic animals. This passion led me to Stephens College, where I studied Theater and Equestrian Studies. Balancing the art of performance with the discipline of riding shaped my ability to connect with both

animals and people, teaching me the importance of presence and patience.

My love for animals extended beyond horses to include my achievements with dogs. I competed with my own dogs in obedience, conformation, and agility, honing my skills and building strong bonds with each of them. One of my proudest achievements was handling a search and rescue dog, a testament to the trust and partnership between a handler and their canine companion. I also worked at a large boarding kennel, where I learned the intricacies of grooming and showing dogs. These experiences enriched my understanding of animal behavior and care, reminding me that every moment is an opportunity for growth and connection.

For 16 years, I had the privilege of teaching a program where I guided students with disabilities in learning to ride horses. Witnessing their growth and confidence blossom in the saddle was incredibly rewarding. This program reinforced my belief in the transformative power of compassion and patience, showing me that every challenge holds the potential for personal evolution.

However, life has its twists and turns. In 2021, I underwent bilateral wrist surgery, a consequence of the physically demanding nature of dog grooming. This unexpected event left me broke in my late 40's

and uncertain about my future. During my year of recovery, I sought solace and clarity through meditation and Buddhism. Embracing the wisdom of impermanence, I learned to steady my mind and open myself to new possibilities, understanding that change is the only constant.

As I navigated this challenging period, I reflected on my skills and passions. Alongside my teaching and riding endeavors, I had also worked in the nursery business and commercial tropical interior scapes. These roles had taught me the importance of nurturing both plants and environments, ensuring they thrived and brought beauty to their surroundings. This reflection led to the birth of Pet & Plant Pal, a service that would combine my expertise in pet care and horticulture.

Pet & Plant Pal is a manifestation of my dedication to compassion for all living beings. I envisioned a service that would elevate the standard of care for pets and plants in my community, providing premium care and peace of mind to their owners. My journey has taught me that change, while daunting, can lead to incredible growth and new opportunities. By embracing the impermanence of life, I found the courage to create something meaningful and impactful.

As of right now, Pet & Plant Pal is a new business. I'm mid trust fall with the universe, hoping to create something truly special. I hope my story inspires you to take that leap of faith and offer your best qualities to the world. Embrace the challenges, trust in your abilities, and know that every experience shapes your path in meaningful ways. Remember, the beauty of life lies in its impermanence, and each moment is an opportunity for growth and transformation.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. I hope you come back to follow my story. Together, let's continue to elevate the care and love we provide to all living beings.
